We have 4 new and exciting opportunities for motivated, reliable and experienced staff who have a passion for food and are keen to take the next step in their career by joining our team.


Cater Plus is the proud service provider for the new Kākāriki Hospital in Auckland, a modern private short-stay surgical hospital based in Greenlane, that is committed to providing restaurant quality meals and catering for special dietary requirements on request.

To make this happen, we need a motivated Chef Manager, Chef, morning Catering Assistant and evening Catering Assistant who are passionate about food and excellent service.

These roles are available from March 2024.


The 4 roles available are:
Chef Manager: 40 hrs/week - 06:00-14:30 Mon-Fri

Chef: 40 hrs/week - 11:00-19:30 Mon-Fri


Catering Assistant:
40 hours /week - 06:00 -14:30 Mon-Fri


Catering Assistant:
25 hours /week - 14:30- 19:30 Mon-Fri

The Chef Manager position will require a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience.

Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Responsible for all aspects of running a kitchen and managing budget and staff costs, patient and staff menu design and implementation including special dietary requirements, managing Food Control Plan implementation to regulations, preparing and serving morning and afternoon teas, and lunches for up to 90 staff.

The Qualified Chef position will require a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.

Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the evening patient meal and other food preparation as required, maintaining Food Control Plan, assisting with menu design and implementation.

May also be required to take orders from patients.


Catering Assistant:
Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Responsible for assisting the Chef Manager in a variety of kitchen duties from food preparation to washing dishes, assisting with meal deliveries to hospital wings.


Catering Assistant:
Working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Assisting the evening Chef with patient meal service and food preparation, delivering patient meals to wards, and cleaning the kitchen at end of shift.


Other conditions for all roles:

  • On occasion, weekend work may be required.
  • Police vetting is a requirement for these roles.
