Hannah Chesmore-Potts

I have 25 years of experience in social services. I have a specialized and advanced degree in social work and a passion to serve children and families. My practice is deeply rooted in the core social work values of service, social justice, dignity and worth of a person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, research, and competence. My work is informed by strengths-based, trauma-informed and solution-focused models of practice. I have been called to this work. I know the work is difficult. It requires on-going community support, and I value having strong partnerships. I value being a member of a multi-cultural team that is dedicated to improving the well-being of others through cultural humility and problem-solving. My passion for the work is maintained by being a lifetime learner, by embracing change and by empathically hearing the stories of the people we serve.

I have 25 years of experience in social services. I have primarily worked in the public child welfare system working in case management, assessment and leadership. I have expertise in supporting families dealing with domestic violence and child abuse and trauma. I am also experienced in working with individuals struggling with addiction and recovery and mental illness. I have also worked in domestic violence and sexual assault survivor services and in programming for children struggling with mental and behavioral health issues. 

I hold a master's degree in social work (MSW) from Eastern Washington University and a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Women's Studies from Cornell College.
