    Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

    We are seeking an experienced Senior E&I Engineer with 10+ years' experience and proven skills. A competitive total remuneration will be offered to the successful candidate.
    Mainstream Engineering (MEL) is an established industrial engineering consultancywith offices in Kawerau, Hamilton and Nelson, New Zealand. We are also supported by personnel in Auckland, Waikato, Tauranga, Wellington, and Christchurch.
    Our engineering team has been providing solutions to industry since 2004 and our reputation for excellent service delivery grows.

    Our experienced team of professional engineers, project managers, designers, and construction supervisors annually deliver practical, compliant, and cost-effective professional service.

    Being mobile and responsive, MEL staff work collaboratively with our clients, applying both technical expertise and practical experience to provide quality engineering and project delivery support.

    Our experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EI&C) team are professionally qualified EI&C engineers or tertiary qualified with an industrial trade background.

    We are looking for a self-performing 'superstar,' who is comfortable on site or in an office, client facing and can deliver study and design outcomes and safely deliver maintainable, fit for purpose solutions on time and within budget for both our internal and external clients.

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer who takes pride in exceeding customer expectations.
    This position will be located within the Waikato region to support an expanding team in our Hamilton office.

    While this role will be remote to our head office in Kawerau, Eastern Bay of Plenty, frequent collaboration days and site visits will be required, as necessary.

    Key skills and attributes for this role include:
    Proven conceptual understanding of what is required to meet clients' needs
    Experience in an engineering consultancy environment
    A relevant tertiary qualification or relevant trade background + a tertiary qualification (Level 6 Diploma)
    Is intimately familiar with and can apply the NZ electrical regulations (AS/NZS 3000)
    Is familiar with Machine safety & Functional Safety (and ideally, FSEng certified)
    Is familiar with Capital Cost estimating
    Previous industrial electrical project experience
    Be a focussed team player, with a passion for getting it right the first time
    Experienced in guiding and supporting a team of engineers and designers
    Innovative thinking, taking a concept to the design and then to the drawing stage
    Methodical, organised and committed to ensuring designs meet professional standards
    Competent with Microsoft Office products
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    10+ years (post-grad/post-apprenticeship) experience essential
