Join Wai-Tech as a Kaiako (tutor) and become part of a dynamic team committed to delivering high-quality education across Te Ika-a-Māui (North Island).

Reporting to the Director of Wai-Tech, you will lead the way in implementing best practices and systems, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements.


Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver the NZ Diploma in Māori Public Health Level
  • Plan and deliver courses using effective teaching methods/materials.
  • Align Assessments to 'Rules of Evidence & Assessment' guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Wai-Tech staff to build positive stakeholder relations.
  • Develop and maintain goaloriented education plans.
  • Stay updated on course requirements for comprehensive service.
  • Continuously update and integrate resources into course planning.
  • Identify, establish, and facilitate relationships within/between the education sector and wider community.

Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, working between 20 to 30 hours per week. These hours will be worked across Monday to Sunday, with weekend mahi required from time to time. Your remuneration package will be pro-rata based on your hours.


Your Skills & Experience

  • Competency in Te Reo Rangatira me ōna tikanga.
  • 2+ years experience working within the Education sector.
  • Must have an Adult Teaching Certificate or Teaching Degree.
  • Sound knowledge of Whānau ora & Kaupapa Māori methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate & implement educational programmes.
  • Prior experience supporting whānau in the community.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and ITbased communication skills.
