    Based in Auckland Calling all leaders of multidisciplinary teams Are you a dab hand at managing people and projects? Does conserving our unique cultural heritage and building relationships excite and motivate you?


    Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is looking for a full time Area Manager for the Mid Northern Regional Heritage team based in Auckland.


    It could be you Working for the leading bicultural government agency charged with identifying, conserving and promoting our unique heritage, you will be responsible for an operational team that delivers expert heritage advice, regulatory services, along with heritage outreach and engagement opportunities.


    You will navigate a broad range of relationships including with local authorities, tangata whenua, heritage sector groups and professionals, owners, organisations and developers.


    Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as are people and project management, understanding legislative processes and a relevant tertiary qualification to deliver top notch services in archaeology, planning, heritage identification and conservation.


    Here at Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, we are committed to working with iwi and hapū and you would embody that spirit too.


    You'll report to the Director Northern and be responsible for delivering heritage outcomes across the Mid Northern Area (including Thames Coromandel and Hauraki) through your team of technical specialists.
