Ward 6 South, Wellington Regional Heart and Lung Unit


Contract:
Permanent, 0.8- or 0.9 FTE, rostered and rotating


Salary:
as per MECA, ( steps 2-7, RN grade depending on experience)

The 6 South Registered Nurse role would appeal to those who are motivated, self-directed and driven to deliver consistently high standards of care and critical thinking.

The 6 South Registered Nurse role is a well-supported role with ample professional development opportunities.


You will be part of a large, skilled nursing team who provide tertiary level care for health consumers under the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic specialities.

Cardiology or Cardiothoracic experience is essential.


Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team


6 South has a large team of 100 nursing staff who work closely with the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic services and associate multi-disciplinary team.

You will be supported by a committed and focused nursing management team incorporating a Charge Nurse Manager, Associate Charge Nurse Managers, and Clinical Nurse Educators.


6 South is a 40 bed unit catering to the Wellington central region, providing care pre and post (but not limited to) acute and elective Angioplasty, Electrophysiology studies, Trans Aortic Valve Implantation, open heart surgery and Thoracic surgery.


Moū - About you

You will have:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ (NCNZ) as a Registered Nurse
  • A current practising certificate with the NCNZ
  • Post registration experience in Cardiology/Cardiothoracic
  • A current work visa
  • A passion for the Heart and Lungs and a desire to work specifically in 6 South
  • A strong equity lens when providing nursing care
  • Post graduate qualification (desirable)
