About the Role | Mō te Tūranga

Our customers, team and suppliers are at the heart of this role and you'll support our Category Managers in delivering solutions around our promotional strategies, specifically for our Bakery categories as an Assistant Category Manager in Bakery in this 12 month fixed term role.

From updating our core retail systems, to assisting in Category reviews and buying projects to analysing performance of product ranges whilst working across a wide range of stakeholders, you'll be the one solving queries and helping to ensure we are continuing to deliver an exceptional and compelling Countdown category offer.


About You | Mōu
This role would really suit someone with strong influencing and negotiation skills and excellent stakeholder management. It's a challenging but rewarding role where you'll learn from the best of the bunch and be able to excel your FMCG exposure and build your retail buying portfolio in this sizeable category


Key accountabilities:

  • Identifying the business's merchandise needs and understanding the buying/selling patterns to be able to provide insight on planning and activities
  • Maintain awareness of product trends, availability and customer preferences
  • Build strong, productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and maintaining these relationships Development of strategic plans including recommendations to changes to drive the success of the category
