As a Recreational Therapist, you will craft engaging programs that promote dignity and independence, empowering residents to make choices and maintain autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver meaningful activities tailored to resident needs.
• Foster a culture of purposeful engagement, promoting empowerment and choice.
• Support residents in maximizing their independence and autonomy.
• Encourage participation and engagement in therapeutic recreation programs.
• Apply the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) for individual or group programs.
• Ensure high-quality recreational activities through monitoring, analysis, review, and reporting.

Requirements

• A passionate, flexible, self-motivated, innovative, energetic, open-minded individual.
• Sound understanding of holistic person-centered approach and high level of human awareness (empathy & compassion).
• Ability to lead individual and group recreational activities.
• Excellent communication skills and strong willingness to learn.
• Full NZ Driver License and ability to drive a Mobility Van.
• Registered Diversional and Recreational Therapist desirable; if not licensed, willingness to complete NZQA Certificate in Diversional and Recreational Therapy required.
