About the Role

Come join our amazing team in Albany, Auckland.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Line Mechanic position.

In this role, you will provide a technical trade service to the company's Distribution Planned Maintenance Division, with a special focus on Ground Mount Switch Maintenance.

Asset inspections from ground and using a pole mounted Go Pro
Specialist overhead inspections by using a drone
Service high voltage ground mounted electrical equipment with a focus on oil switches
Assisting with high voltage underground cable testing
Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work
Climbing and working on electricity network structure
Using lines machinery plant and equipment in an electricity network environment
Determining the condition of electricity supply lines
Developing work plans for construction and servicing overhead electricity supply lines and equipment
Joining electricity network overhead conductors
Replacing load bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 33 kV
Installing and replacing electricity network pole structures
Installing electricity network overhead conductors
Operating ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electricity lines up to 33 kV
Rigging electrical network structure

About you

To be considered, you will have:
NZQA or equivalent recognised qualification as an electrician or distribution line mechanic
Hands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standards.
A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
Class 2 drivers' licence (preferred)
