Description

We are looking for an experienced
Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Infection Prevention & Control team in a part-time (0.8 FTE) role working Monday to Friday with flexible office hours.

Based at Mercy Hospital in Epsom, you will provide IP&C coverage across all of our sites.

Reporting to the IP&C Programme Lead, and along with one other Clinical Specialist IP&C, you'll enjoy developing and extending your existing IP&C skills within a well established Infection Control programme.


Key accountabilities include:


  • Provision of clinical leadership & expert advice in IP&C practices across the organisation
  • Collaboration with other clinical leaders to continuously improve clinical practice & patient outcomes
  • Participation in product trials and evaluation and consult on contract reviews & purchasing
  • Consultation on the development and delivery of IP&C education programmes and information sharing for clinical staff
  • Review, evaluation and development of frameworks for policy and education
  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current NZ Practicing Certificate and at Expert level in the PDRP
  • Hold a post graduate qualification in an IP & C discipline with at least 5 years experience in a hospital environment
  • Have a proven clinical leadership background along with experience in training and research analysis
  • Demonstrate excellent communication & negotiation skills and have the ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation
