    About the Role

    As Regional Design Delivery Programme Manager, working within our Infrastructure and Investment Group(IIG), you'll play a pivotal role in translating strategic intent into facility designs that are clinically fit for purpose, reflect modern models of care, and meet the evolving health needs of our communities across the Te Waipounamu region. You'll lead a team of Design Delivery Project Managers and work closely with clinical stakeholders, iwi, design teams, and project leaders to ensure infrastructure planning and design aligns with Health NZ's strategic priorities and regulatory requirements.

    This is a leadership role that is responsible for ensuring design delivery is consistent, collaborative, and focused on improving access, outcomes, and staff wellbeing across the region.

    About the Team/Service/ Location

    The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.

    About you

    You're a strategic leader with a deep understanding of health facility design and planning, and you know how to bring people together to turn vision into reality. You've previously worked in complex environments and are confident navigating diverse stakeholder landscapes, from clinical teams and iwi partners to design consultants and project managers.

    You bring a collaborative, inclusive approach to leadership and are passionate about delivering infrastructure that supports equitable access, better health outcomes, and a more sustainable health system.

    You will bring:

    • Proven experience leading health planning and design portfolios or programmes in a medium to large health organisation
    • Strong knowledge of health facility design methodologies and planning frameworks
    • Understanding of the healthcare environment, including clinical service delivery models
    • Experience with organisational change, risk management, and quality improvement
    • Advanced skills in project/programme/portfolio management tools and Microsoft Suite
    • A tertiary qualification in Health, Business, Engineering, Construction or a related field (preferred)
    • Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022
