Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity


The Auckland Bioengineering Institute is excited to announce that they have an opportunity for a Software Developer/Web-Developer to join their SPARC MAP CORE team on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2025.

The NIH Common Fund's Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions (SPARC) aims to transform our understanding of nerve-organ interactions and ultimately advance the neuromodulation field toward precise treatment of diseases and conditions for which conventional therapies fall short.


This unique position offers the opportunity to gain exposure across a variety of work in other areas of the project as part of a large international network.

You will work with a large team of Investigators and specialists located all around the globe and be supported locally by senior colleagues from whom you can learn and develop.

Please note this is a
full time (37.5hours/ week)
fixed term position until
31 August 2025.
The
salary range is $78,500 to $97,000, dependent on experience.


He kōrero mōu | About you

  • Hold a Postgraduate level qualification in Computer Science and Engineering or similar.
  • Have at least 4 years' experience in:
  • Web-based / full stack development
  • 3D visualisation in the browser
  • CI/CD
  • Be skilled at working with a large amount of data, data management and versioning.
  • Have strong communication skills, that lend well to our collaborative, diverse and global project environment.
  • Have knowledge and experience working in Python, JavaScript, CSS, WebGL, and experience with unit testing, endtoend testing, UI coding, and Git version control.
  • Be curious, innovative, and inventive as there is often no roadmap or blueprint for what we are trying to do.
  • Knowledge and experience working with different image formats would also be beneficial, as we work with a lot of image data

The Auckland Bioengineering Institute is a unique partnership between scientists, engineers, clinicians and the community.

Established in 2001, the Institute excels in world-class bioengineering research carried out by cross-faculty research teams, alongside clinical collaborators in the Auckland region.


The SPARC Data and Research Center aims to provide tools and services to enable the SPARC awardees to collaborate effectively and efficiently across all organ systems regardless of global location.
