The Infrastructure & Property team delivers the core services that rate payers expect (and government mandates). These include roading, water services, parks and reserves, solid waste, emergency management, and the management of property holdings.


The Asset Management Team is responsible for ensuring the success of Council's 5 Water activities across the Sewlyn district through their broad view and robust planning programmes.


About the role


Reporting to the Head of Asset Management you will get the opportunity to provide comprehensive asset and activity management planning input and advice to support Council's overall goals and ensure the success of the districts water service activities.


This is a pivotal role that brings the desires of the community, long term management of infrastructure growth demands and operational challenges together.

The Water Services Asset Manager works closely with the Growth and Development team and the Water Services Delivery team to plan for, and monitor progress across the water activity for Selwyn.

About you

  • At least 10 years' experience working in engineering asset management and or water services planning
  • Familiarity with Activity Management Plans, Business Cases, Strategies and Policies
  • Understanding of land development engineering and the management of local authority water infrastructure management
  • Ability to consider a range of information and provide advice in a sound and considered manner
  • Sound financial knowledge including budget development and monitoring
