    The Opportunity

    We require someone with excellent construction survey knowledge and experience to lead a small team of surveyors and engineers to undertake all aspects of construction survey for our regional business.

    Fulton Hogan delivers a diverse range of projects in the Central Otago and the Southern Lakes districts for our clients, including Water Treatment facilities, Roading Infrastructure, three waters infrastructure, and Roading Maintenance contracts.

    As the Survey Manager you will be responsible for prioritising and co-ordinating the survey resources to support these projects with accurate set out, and as built data collection for submission at project completion.

    Although our focus is on supporting our internal business, we do undertake some external work and there is potential to enhance this part of the survey business.

    Key aspects of the role include but are not limited to:
    Undertaking site survey tasks
    Training and development of staff
    Managing the survey equipment, including Trimble machine control systems for graders and excavators
    Enhancing relationships with our internal and external clients and suppliers
    Management of data
    Programming planning and co-ordinating of people and plant resources to meet priorities.

    Use of software such as Civil 3D for preparation of design data and delivering outputs for as-built drawings or similar.

    Financial management including job invoicing and general cost control.
    What you'll bring to the table

    In addition to a sound technical knowledge in the survey field, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with the various project teams and clients.

    You will enjoy being organised and structured in your work, with a focus on quality processes.


    Further requirements include:
    Tertiary qualification in surveying
    5+ years' experience in a construction surveying role
    Excellent knowledge of Trimble survey equipment and machine control systems.
    Experienced user of Civil 3D software.
    Ability to build good relationships with clients
    A positive attitude towards safety
    Ability to communicate effectively.
    Good problem-solving abilities.
    Able to meet prioritise and meet deadlines.
