We are looking for Administration Support Officers to join our team at Auckland Prison, which is located just outside of Albany.

Mō te tūnga | About the role
This is a varied role with a wide range of duties. You will be required to provide accounts payable assistance and administration support to internal and external customers.

Other duties will include telephone support, visitor support, checking of incoming and outgoing prisoner mail, data entry and general administration.

You will enjoy working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment, be able to multitask, remain adaptable, follow and adhere to policies and procedures, and have sound judgement in prioritising tasks and activities to meet deadlines.

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience;

  • Good computer skills and experience including Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP
  • Experience in providing efficient and effective administration support
  • Excellent written & oral communications skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously
  • Willingness to undertake and complete appropriate training as directed to learn new processes


You will need a Restricted New Zealand driver licence for this role, with the ability to sit your Full licence within 6 months.

The salary range for this role is $59,717- $63,434 per annum.

Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen or an Australian resident who holds a current Australian Resident Return Visa.
