WH AND LOGISTICS HEAD NEW ZEALANDA newly created Warehouse leadership role has just become available at a global tooling and machinery company in Auckland.
With 5 direct reports, you will have overall responsibility for a growing team of 50.In this business critical role, you will be responsible for defining the broad warehouse development strategy, delivering the highest quality service alongside the Managing Director and National Operations Manager.
You will take the lead providing direction to all warehouse ERP-related activities (SAP), in addition to all inventory, logistics, health & safety and operational efficiency plans.
This position has been created in order to keep up with the advancement of the business and will require a strong leader as well as being a warehouse/operational & health & safety expert.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan Warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, to achieve full warehouse optimisation and to comply with Dangerous Goods regulations;Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for warehousing Functions;Develop and/or enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment;Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training and performance management;To succeed, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with the senior leadership team whilst at the same time being a hands on, empathetic leader on the ground
Key requirements:
18+ years in a warehouse, logistics and operations role;Minimum 5 years in a leadership position, leading warehouse teams with both direct and indirect reporting lines.
