Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust is seeking several dynamic and experienced individuals to join our team as Team Leads for Whānau Support Services.

These roles play a crucial part in supporting and guiding our kaimahi to positively impact the wellbeing of whānau through integrated service delivery aligned with the Whānau Ora framework.


  • A core expectation of this role is to uphold the mana of Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust, build and maintain positive relationships that will protect, enhance, and develop the cultural, environmental, economic, and social wellbeing of the local community.
  • We are seeking someone with Leadership experience, preferable within the community services sector. This role will be suited to someone with a solid understanding of people management and desire to participate in the ongoing growth and development of staff.
    Roles & Responsibilities.
  • Provide daytoday management and leadership to ensure quality services for whānau.
  • Guide kaimahi according to contractual specifications and service outcomes.
  • Enhance service delivery, focusing on whānau ora, recovery, and wellness.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Māori providers and government agencies.
  • Implement culturally appropriate practices, manage expenditure, and mitigate risks.
  • Align with Whānau Ora model and evaluate service delivery effectively.
  • Coordinate team meetings, provide coaching, and achieve outcomes.
  • Facilitate professional development and training for team members.
  • Maintain performance appraisals and holistic support.
  • Uphold recordkeeping practices and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including timely client case notes.

Your Skills & Experience.

  • Recognised Qualification in Supervision
  • Minimum of level 5 qualification in health, education, social practice, or relevant field (desirable).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the community field.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, contract specifications, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated facilitation, planning, and coordination experience.
  • Familiarity with the Waitākere region's community and service networks.
  • Commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori and kaupapa Māori approaches.
  • Sound problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Full driver's license.
