    Nursing - Community, Maternal & Child Health (Healthcare & Medical)

    The Ngāti Hine Health Trust is a Charitable Trust and has offices spread throughout the North with primary offices in Kawakawa and Whangarei.

    The Trust has served the Northland community for many years and is a major Northland employer delivering high quality health and disability, social, educational, youth and broadcasting services.

    We have a full-time position available for a dynamic and passionate Kaupapa Maori Nurse Practitioner.

    The successful applicant will be prepared to both practice and study in order to enhance patient treatment and care planning in the primary care setting within the scope of Whanau Ora and contributing to the improvement of Maori health by reducing health inequalities between Maori and non-Maori for the population served by the Ngati Hine Health Trust.


    ABOUT YOU

    Ideally you will be an experienced nurse practitioner who is confident, warm and flexible with strong organisation and communication skills.

    You will have high standards of personal integrity and will respect whanau and clinic privacy. You will be committed to continuous improvement, enthusiastic about new learning opportunities and supporting organisational change.
    You will be passionate about working as part of a dedicated healthcare team to provide appropriate and professional care.

    You will have the computer literacy and keyboard skills needed to fulfil the role, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to multi-task and will be comfortable working in a busy clinical environment.

    The ability to contribute your knowledge, skills and experience to enhance the services NHHT provide.
    Qualifications and experience
    You will be a registered nurse entitled to work in New Zealand and hold registration with the NZNC.
    A current practising and CPR certificate.
    Prior experience using MedTech is desired but not essential.
    High level of empathy and dedication to enhancing Māori hauora outcomes.
    Post Graduate Diploma
    Good understanding/working knowledge of local communities
    Current clean full driver's license essential for local travel.

    Bonus points if you also have the following:
    Previous experience in a kaupapa Māori/Iwi organisation.
    Strong community, hapū, and iwi networks across Taitokerau.

    From humble beginnings, the Trust has grown to become an exponential leader in oranga (wellbeing) services within the Northland community.

    The Trust delivers across multiple sectors including health, disability support, mental health & addictions, primary care, justice, corrections, housing, education, social services, reo irirangi Māori and Whānau Ora.

    We have locations in Kawakawa (Head Office), Whangārei (Business Support) and satellite offices in Kaikohe, Pakaraka, Moerewa and Kaeo.

    The size and complexity of the Trust can be measured with, circa 30 June 2022:
    $40M revenue, 400+ kaimahi and over 100 funding contracts and/or agreements.
