About the role


As a UI/UX Team Lead, you'll be the line manager of a functional team of talented designers, responsible for the creation of elegant and easy-to-use design solutions for MEGA's website, desktop, and mobile apps.

This role offers the chance to take on a hands-on leadership position in crafting a comprehensive platform, designed for a broad user base.

Utilising an ever-evolving design system and the latest trends in UI/UX design, you'll thrive in a setting that genuinely appreciates your talents and harnesses them to their utmost capacity.

Reporting to the Design and Content Manager in NZ, you'll make an impact by:

  • Managing a team of UI/UX designers to deliver powerful, effective and consistent design solutions
  • Overseeing all design deliverables, ensuring quality and comprehensive endtoend experiences
  • Collaborating with the Design and Content Manager to establish and uphold quality controls, ensuring the team's work meets high standards
  • Enhancing design operations by implementing standardised workflows and tools to boost scalability and efficiency
  • Leading and instilling best practices among design team members to meet company OKRs and customer needs
  • Contributing to and leading high priority projects and initiatives
  • Collaborating with a crossfunctional team of Product Managers, Engineers, Content Writers, and Designers
  • Owning and maintaining several existing design systems and component libraries using Figma, ensuring we are efficiently building consistent experiences across our product suite
  • Establishing design standards and principles accompanying the design system for scalability, efficiency, and consistency


Please note that we run an asynchronous, hybrid-remote model at MEGA, and this role may require early-morning or late-night availability as you work alongside staff in different time zones.


About you
As a dedicated leader, you excel at guiding a high-performing team through your collaborative spirit. Your passion for technology and design resonates through the thoughtful, user-centric solutions you champion.

You keep a finger on the pulse of emerging trends in UI/UX design, leveraging them to enhance the user experience.

With keen attention to detail, you guide your team's efforts towards innovative design approaches while ensuring the completion of objectives.

You put your strong communication skills into practice, mentoring team members, fostering a culture of open dialogue, and driving user advocacy.


You also have:

  • Six or more years of commercial design experience
  • Two or more years experience as a UI/UX Team Lead, with a track record of building and managing highperformance teams
  • Experience in building and maintaining design systems
  • Comprehensive UI/UX skillset, including expertise in usercentric design, user research, and an inherent eye for aesthetics
  • Proven ability to deliver across different platforms and products, including mobile apps
  • Passion for all aspects of interactive design
  • Strong written and verbal English skills
  • Knowledge of current design software, e.g. Figma, Sketch, InVision
  • Preferably had exposure to HTML, CSS, and associated technologies
