    We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthy Active Learning Advisor to join our team.

    This role plays a pivotal part in implementing the Healthy Active Learning initiative in selected primary schools in the Clutha area.


    Your role will encompass:
    Developing and maintaining relationships with school Principals, Boards of Trustees, and senior staff.
    Collaborating with MoH and MoE staff for coordinated initiative development and implementation.
    Providing advice and support for the planning and development of systems promoting an active and healthy school.
    Supporting the implementation of HPE and Hauora curriculum, advocating for quality physical activity experiences.
    Fostering connections with the wider school community, including whānau, local health providers, and physical activity organisations.
    Advocating for and supporting the adoption of healthy food and water-only policies in schools.

    To succeed in this role, you will have:
    Experience working with or within schools.
    Understanding of primary and intermediate school operating models.
    Familiarity with the sport and education sectors and Sport NZ's strategies.
    Experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing quality play, sport, and physical activity opportunities for tamariki.
    Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and principles of Partnership, Protection, and Participation.
    Exceptional relationship-building skills and emotional intelligence.
    Thorough knowledge of effective pedagogical strategies, including culturally responsive and active pedagogies.
    Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
    A positive disposition towards quality physical education and the wellbeing of tamariki.
    Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, meeting deadlines with quality results.
    Track record of handling confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
    Awareness of the social and political context in which Regional Sport Trusts operate.
    Flexibility to work non-traditional hours.
    Proficient in Microsoft computer programs.
    Current Driver License.
