Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity


Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland is undertaking a significant programme to transition from its legacy PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System to Workday.

This transition requires the skills and support of an experienced enterprise
Data Analyst who will work closely with the
established Data Migration Specialist on a fixed term basis (31st July 2024).


Data Analysis

  • Analysis of legacy data models to determine the usage and business purpose of data attributes.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine requirements for data migration needs.

Data migration preparation / planning

  • Work with the project team and implementation partner, to deliver the source to target system field mapping, build transformation code and load data.
  • Prepare data migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality, and business signoff details.

Data migration

  • Support the migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another.
  • Assist with data migration audit, reconciliation, and exception reporting.

Please note, this is a fulltime (37.5 hours/ week)
fixed term (31st July 2024) opportunity, with a salary range of $66,600-$82,200 depending on skills and experience per annum prorated.

Essential:


  • Proven working experience as a data analyst / migration specialist
  • Previous experience with large scale ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Handson experience interrogating and manipulating data in data base technologies such as SQL and Oracle databases using languages like SQL or PL/SQL
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques is preferable, though not essential

This position will be based in the cross functional project team.

The team is made up from representatives from across the University including; Human Resources, Organisation Performance & Improvement Department, Digital Services and our implementation partner.

The team is responsible for the successful deliver of our transformational programme of work.
