About The Role
You will work 8-hour shifts on a rostered and rotating basis, with a workload equivalent to 0.8 full-time employment
You'll Make a Real Difference By
Providing compassionate care to women throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period.
Working collaboratively with women and their whānau (family) to create a positive birthing experience.
Conducting prenatal checkups, monitoring fetal health, and providing education on childbirth and newborn care.
Managing labour and birth, including administering pain relief and performing deliveries.
Providing postpartum care for mothers and their newborns, including breastfeeding support.
To thrive in this role, you'll ideally have:
A Bachelor of Midwifery degree and registration with the New Zealand Midwifery Council.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with women and their families.
A calm and confident demeanour to manage challenging situations during childbirth.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
A commitment to cultural competency and providing holistic care that respects women's choices.
