Job Description:


Our manufacturing site in East Tamaki provides a vast range of flexible packaging products used for packing beverages, retail and wholesale foods, healthcare products, household products, pet food and personal care items.


Reporting to the Operations Manager you will join the maintenance team performing a variety of tasks supporting and improving our manufacturing operation.


Key Responsibilities of the role:


  • Attend to breakdowns, equipment trouble shooting, repairs and preventive maintenance work orders
  • Improving machine uptime & equipment reliability
  • Maintain & repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standards
  • Identify defective or worn mechanical components or equipment and assist in root cause analysis
  • Work on continuous improvement projects
  • Ability to work at times autonomously and without direct supervision

Qualifications:


To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair machinery efficiently
  • A continuous improvement mindset to eliminate issues from happening again
  • A hands on approach and personality that can demonstrate natural initiative
  • Familiarity with maintenance best practices and preventative maintenance systems
  • Implementation of system based preventative maintenance based programs would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals.
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment
  • Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
  • Good communication skills
