About the Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety/Emergency Management Advisor to join our team at Stratford District Council.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining health and safety systems, processes and procedures that support the health and safety and wellbeing of staff in alignment with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
You will also work closely with contractors to ensure our health and safety requirements are met, ensuring the safety of our community while working on council activities.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position located at the Stratford District Council. Flexible working arrangements may be available in time.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 per annum.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification or up to five years' experience in a similar role, including knowledge of current New Zealand legislation relating to health and safety and civil defence.
You will have excellent planning, organisational and management skills, and the ability to work well as an individual and as part of a close-knit team.
