    Job Title: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Nelson Hospital

    About the Role:

    We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse to join our inpatient mental health team on a temporary basis.

    The Service:

    We provide comprehensive care for patients with acute through to rehabilitation needs.

    About the Team/Location:

    We are a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional mental health care. We foster a supportive environment and work towards creating a positive workplace with balanced and safe workloads.

    About You:

    • You must be a registered NZ nurse with confidence in autonomous working and resilience in managing workload.
    • Culturally aware and committed to reducing barriers for Māori clients accessing services.
    • Driven to work proactively and adapt to change and development.
    • Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or commitment to learning and growth.
    • Experience in projects/initiatives implementing Te Tiriti principles in healthcare settings.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to work across the Mental Health Continuum.

    Required Knowledge:

    • Mental Health Act 1992.
    • PPPR Act – Welfare Guardian.
    • Sensory Modulation Principles in Mental Health.
    • Mental status examinations and risk assessments.
