About the role:


This role is a part of the finance team's leadership, with a primary responsibility for delivering precise and timely financial reports regarding the company's financial status and performance.

These reports adhere to robust governance practices and company policies.

As a crucial support figure for both the Chief Financial Officer and the Senior Finance Manager in the Financial Services division, the Financial Accounting Manager oversees and leads the financial accounting and accounts payable functions and their respective teams.

Their primary objective is to safeguard the accuracy and security of accounting information communicated to stakeholders and the company's asset protection.


Key Responsibilities and Expected Results

  • Manage the financial accounting and accounts payable function
  • Ensure timely and accurate information is readily available for stakeholders.
  • Support key components of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts, opening/closing new accounts, business unit status, GL integrity, and reporting hierarchies.
  • Conduct yearend close and rollover.
  • Manage calculations, reconciliations, disbursements, and postings for financial and management accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, ensuring accurate records of asset transactions and annual integrity reviews.
  • Review balance sheet workfiles to enhance transparency and validity for stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage accounts payable and expense compliance, reporting in accordance with statutory requirements and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications
As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organisation.

You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Finance Manager - Financial Services to manage the financial accounting and accounts payable function and team, ultimately safeguarding our assets and providing valuable financial recommendations for cost reduction and increased efficiency.


  • Maintains current membership in Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or holds an equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Holds a relevant tertiary degree in accounting.
  • Possesses solid commercial experience along with exceptional technical financial management skills.
  • Demonstrates a grasp of accounting standards.
  • Exhibits strong analytical abilities.
  • Shows proficiency in commonly utilised accounting software, with a preference for SAP.
  • Boasts advanced expertise in Excel.
