This exciting role is with the BT Funds Management (NZ) Limited (BTNZ) team, which is the investment arm of Westpac in New Zealand.

BTNZ provides a range of diversified and single sector funds, managed by its own team as well as local and global investment managers.

These include the Westpac KiwiSaver Scheme, the Westpac Active Series and the Premium Investment Funds.


Mō te Tūranga - About the Role


Reporting to the Senior Credit Analyst - Portfolio Manager for BTNZ, the key focus of the role is to undertake credit analysis and provide recommendations for securities held within the domestic cash and fixed interest portfolios, manage the NZ Cash Portfolio and assist with the management of the NZ Fixed Interest Portfolios.


The successful applicant will work with the Senior Portfolio Manager - NZ Fixed Interest, in structuring domestic cash and fixed interest portfolios employed across BTNZ.

Utilising your understanding and experience in the corporate credit market and credit analysis, you will research and provide recommendations and commentary on the credit market and security selection for BTNZ's domestic cash and fixed interest portfolios.

Integral to the role are environmental, social and governance considerations as they relate to cash and fixed interest.


Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • Minimum of 37 years' experience, ideally in fund management, capital markets, corporate/treasury or professional services.
  • Previous experience in cash/ credit/ fixed interest research is desirable including ESG and Sustainable Investment considerations.
  • A tertiary qualification in either Finance, Economics or a related field is a requirement for this role.
  • A growth mindset with the ability to drive change through a large organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to guide individuals to fast and effective outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
