Description
Our upscale pastry shop is currently seeking two reliable and stable Pastry Cooks to join our team.

In this role, you will be working at least 30 hours per week and responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including:


Ensure cleanliness and safety:

Conduct regular checks of equipment and premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.


Quality control:
Verify the quality of raw materials and accurately weigh ingredients to maintain the high standards of our products.


Dough preparation:
Skillfully knead, mature, cut, mold, mix, and shape dough and pastry goods according to recipes and specifications.


Filling preparation:
Prepare various pastry fillings with precision and attention to detail.


Oven monitoring:
Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine optimal baking times, ensuring consistency in quality.


Batch coordination:
Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products efficiently.


Finishing touches:
Glaze pastries, and decorate cakes with cream and icing, showcasing artistic flair and attention to detail.


Machine operation:
Operate machines that roll, mold dough, and cut biscuits, maintaining efficiency and quality standards.


Equipment maintenance:
Empty, clean, and grease baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.


Others:

Collaborate with the kitchen team and FOH staff to ensure that desserts are provided to customers in a timely manner, including online orders.

Participate in the development of new desserts/drinks and the improvement of existing ones.


To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have the ability to follow health and safety procedures and guidelines;
  • Have proven experience in similar roles (at least three years). Alternatively, a qualification in the relevant major with handson experience in the industry;
  • Interest in developing and making Asian (Korean or Japanese) style light desserts;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Must be available to work late (10pm) every Friday, Saturday and Sunday;
  • Must be able to work through the Christmas month;
  • No criminal convictions and drug tests are required.
