Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences seeks to appoint
two Research Programme Coordinators on a
fulltime basis (37.5 hours per week) to support researchers in the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) and the School of Medicine (SOM).

Both roles are on fixed term contracts ending
30 June 2024.


Research Programme Coordinator (RPC) are crucial in supporting our researchers with effective research project coordination, navigation of research support services and operational pre-award and post-award support.


Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Provide exemplary operational research support to allocated researchers throughout the research lifecycle, navigating researchers to the appropriate functions.
  • Provide support and advice to researchers on the development of funding proposals, including initial budget costing, collecting relevant information and internal approvals ensuring Funder/Client and University requirements are met.
  • Proactively support a portfolio of research grants providing both financial and nonfinancial postaward support, including variations and closure of active projects.
  • Provide a firstclass administrative and operational service to researchers contributing to the planning, delivery, and implementation of research projects.

The Research Services team at the Faulty of Medical and Health Science facilitate our researchers to carry out ground-breaking research that changes health outcomes for our communities.

The role reports to a Research Programme Manager and works alongside a supportive team of other Research Programme Coordinators.


He kōrero mōu | About you
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interpret and explain complex policies to non-specialists. You will have demonstrable experience of financial systems and processes as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Your ability to build relationships and maintain a high level of stakeholder service while proactively finding solutions to a range of complex issues will underpin your success in this position.
