We are on the lookout for 2 motivated and committed individuals to join our team in the position of Cook for our business in New Plymouth.

We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $29 - $31p/h.
You will need to work according to the roster and need to be available on weekends.

Your main role is to assist kitchen and service staff in preparing and serving food and clean food preparation and service areas.

Our business operates from 6:30am to 6:30pm, 7 days a week, so your flexibility to work early, long and weekend shifts is a must.

Your job entails:
Take care of daily food preparation and duties to meet the standard and quality
Estimate daily production needs and check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met
Ensure production preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times
Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation receiving storage and sanitation
Full awareness of all menu items recipes methods of production and presentation standards
Responsible for hygiene safety and correct use of equipment and utensils
Ensure the kitchen environment is clean and tidy
To produce own work in accordance with deadlines
Periodically check the expiry date and proper storage of food items in the section
Abide and enforce health codes and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and food storage areas
Ensure plating accuracy garnishing portion size and correct serving dish
Comply with health and safety regulations
Cleaning oven, deep fryer and big dipper are part of the duties and must be followed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Unscheduled kitchen cleaning tasks will also need to be performed under the instructions of management


Requirements:
Qualification is not required
Minimun of 6 months experience working in a cafe environment
Ongoing training will be provided
