We are looking for Patient Care Assistants to join our General Surgery Outpatient Modules, Breast Service.


Consultations, breast imaging and diagnostic tests are co-ordinated within our clinic providing the gold standard in diagnosis and treatment for our Breast patients.

Many patients will have a diagnosis of Breast Cancer and the care and support you provide will be rewarding with the work you do really making a difference.

The successful applicant will be committed to providing patients with the highest standard of care and have a sound work ethic.


Proven experience as a Patient Care Assistant in outpatient modules, a clinical environment or a health background are favourable and a special interest in Breast is essential.

You will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and a can do attitude to problem solving.

Skills in assisting with clinical procedures is advantageous. Excellent communication skills as well as attention to detail are essential.

The position is a mix of clinical interaction with patients as well as a high administration component, both of which support the Breast RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist Team and Consultants.


We currently have two positions available working Monday to Friday, flexible to work between the hours of 8am to 6pm is essential.


  • Part time working 12 hours a week
  • Part time working 28 hours a week
The important work that you will do is for the people at the core of our health system i.e. our patients and their whaanau.

You will be working alongside general surgeons, trainee doctors and nurses, nurse specialists and our own highly experienced team of nurses and patient care assistants.


Essential Criteria:


  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in a clinical or health environment
  • A special interest in Breast
  • Knowledge of PIMS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Level 3 Healthcare Assistant qualification ( or equivalent)


The salary range is dependent on skills and experience and will be paid in line with the National Administration Collective agreement.
