Reporting to the Group Services HSW Manager we are looking for a high-performing and hands-on HSW Advisor to join our HSW team in a dynamic role that supports a diverse portfolio ranging from Corporate staff, through to our Facilities and Distribution Teams.


Based onsite at our East Tamaki campus, you will build trust with teams and inspire change by providing comprehensive insights and advice that directly improves the safety of work.

Partnering with stakeholders, the role will promote leadership engagement, empower our employees, and take a risk-based approach to continuously improve our ways of working.


About You


We are looking for a curious, engaging and technically savvy solutions focused person who understands the 'bigger picture' and is passionate about safety at work.


You will have a consultative and collaborative approach and highly proficient communication skills enabling you to build strong relationships of trust, to partner effectively at all levels and to guide and influence safety outcomes.

You will be constantly seeking ways to challenge the status quo and empower shared leadership and ownership of safety within our business.


Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of 3 years HSW experience, preferably gained in a large organisation that is recognised as a leader in HSW.
  • A tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, or an equivalent degree such as NEBOSH (preferred).
  • The ability to work collaboratively to foster and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Experience undertaking routine safety inspections, conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing risk controls.
  • Experience escalating and investigating H&S events and ensuring corrective actions are applied.
  • Experience working with a safety management system and/ or a working knowledge of ISO45001 in New Zealand.
  • Experience conducting audits.
  • Experience with contractor management is highly desirable.
