We are looking for a hands-on, talented, innovative, and practical individual with functional experience to design, implement and support products and product components on a predictable schedule.

Someone who is capable of working under mínimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, you will provide technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.


Responsibilities:


  • Confident in setting out overall architectural vision on a companywide scale, which has the ability to grow and flex effectively in line with business plans.
  • Able to identify root causes and initiate changes to the processes or technologies that underpin AskNicely's engineering teams.
  • Capable of temporarily bolstering a team to pair or write code on problems that are particularly complex, difficult, high impact, or novel.
  • Defines and sets our principles and patterns, including extending these to cover previously unknown spaces.
  • Has the ability to spot where multiple disciplines are solving the same challenges, and can bring people together to solve these.
  • Able to identify technology that can play a strategic enablement role to grow the business, finding opportunities worth investing in that can materially impact the commercial success of the business.
  • Thinks in terms of a 2 year future time horizon, helping others to see what's down the road, and what the implications are for now.

Requirements:


  • 8+ years of software development or equivalent experience
  • Technically adept systems thinker, ideally with a Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience working as a software engineer
  • Boundless curiosity, persistence and drive to get things done
  • Demonstrated success and strong execution track record in building and sustaining scalable platform products
  • Entrepreneurship mentality. Must be a selfstarter, selfmotivated, able to work independently, and possess strong team and time management skills to extract insights without all information/data readily available.
  • Focused on the design of products from a customer perspective. We are here to provide value to our customers, and want to ensure we're putting our customers first through every piece of engineering.
  • Uptodate with latest technologies, frameworks and architectures experience with and Micro Front End architecture is highly advantageous.
  • Committed to continuous improvement of yourself, your teammates, and our software.
  • Eager to share your own ideas, and open to the ideas of others.
  • Passionate about code quality, continuous delivery, and automated testing
  • Great interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication. You can collaborate and thrive in productive, healthy debate done with mutual respect and shared goals. You can make complex concepts accessible with clear communication
  • You enjoy participating in the endtoend product development lifecycle: user research, product discovery, design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and user feedback
