    Registered Mental Health Nurse - Regional Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit

    Summary:

    We are seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Regional Rehabilitation Inpatient unit in Porirua/Wellington. This is a part-time/permanent (0.93 FTE) position with a rotating roster.

    Job Description

    Tawhirimatea is a 29-bed safe care facility rehabilitation unit for up to 29 people within Te Korowai Whariki's Rehabilitation Service. As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to support tangata whaiora on their journey towards recovery.

    You will need to be able to work effectively with Mental Health Support Workers under your direction and delegation, carrying out and assisting them to undertake care activities. Your active listening skills and solution-focused approach will enable you to foster tangata whaiora to achieve their identified goals within their pathway journey.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide nursing care and support to patients with mental health needs.
    • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
    • Support Mental Health Support Workers in undertaking care activities.
    • Maintain accurate and person-centred nursing documentation.

    Requirements

    • A pre-registration or post-registration qualification in MH nursing (or ID).
    • Registration with New Zealand Nursing Council.
    • A current practising certificate (APC).
    • A full NZ driving licence.
