About The Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Specification Writer, based in our Auckland office.

You will be responsible for generating and completing Door Opening Schedules while providing technical support to sales teams and customers.

You will also working with Sales Team to grow the overall business engagement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting customer training for architects including but not limited to NZIA-approved CPD presentations.
  • Providing detailed and accurate specifications/schedules adhering to all pertinent Building codes, New Zealand Standards and total requirements of ASSA ABLOY products as requested by our clients. And understanding of pertinent Building codes, and local regulations.
  • Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction-Manager-At-Risk, and similar type Contractors and Construction Managers actively using BIM software tools and content for the management of project materials and installation.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret project construction plans (working drawings)
  • Architectural Design and Engineering Firms actively engaged in using BIM software in their design and specification process.
  • Providing forecasting information for production and procurement to maximise I.F.O.T. levels.
  • Identifying and tracking major BIM projects as targets for AAOS consulting and integration opportunities.

About you:


  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Customer focused and committed to providing a high quality of service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess comprehensive product knowledge to schedule and implement client requirements and transform those requirements into adequate solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated problemsolving skills and the ability to think creatively to identify opportunities for improvement.
