About Wellington Transport Alliance

The Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) is a partnership between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan and WSP.

WTA is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations programme for the state highways and roading networks of the Greater Wellington Region, and for delivering high service standards to the people and roading network of the region.

The Opportunity

In this role you will;

Ensure efficient delivery of Tunnel maintenance and renewal works on the WTA network.
Manage personnel, including tunnel technicians, supervisors, subcontractors and labour, and physical resources such as plant and materials.
Manage engineering activities.
Manage procurement and subcontracts, planned and reactive maintenance and operational support including mechanical, electrical, and related tunnel control systems.
Manage relevant works procedures and training to provide regulatory compliance.
Manage all health and safety on site including, inductions, briefings, incident reporting, OFI's and operating procedures.
Actively support the Assets Managers to ensure that Asset Management Plans and budgets are well informed by the operational and maintenance requirements.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have / demonstrate:

Relevant tertiary Qualification
Current Driver's License

First Aid Level

ConstructSafe Tier 1 (preferable)
CoPTTM Inspector Qualification
An understanding of project specifications and productivities.
Experience including road tunnels, transportation and/or production/process automation, such as:
Tunnel Fire and Life Safety, ITS, Mechanical/ Electrical and/or SCADA Systems.
Working with engineering consultants and contractors in a maintenance setting.
Processes involved in operating and maintaining M&E.
Quality management experience.
Experience in a collaborative environment.
A clear understanding and commitment to Health & Safety.
An understanding and technical awareness of electrical, mechanical, controls and ITS equipment.
Ability to develop constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience in the management of personnel and subcontractors.
A drive to achieve goals, whilst maintaining confidence and credibility in a cost and timeline driven environment of public exposure.
An ability to identify areas for improvement and interventions to achieve improved project and customer outcomes.
