Located in the north of New Zealand's North Island, Auckland is the country's largest city.

It is also one of New Zealand's most densely populated areas, but the city is surrounded by many vineyards, beaches, forests and the Hauraki Gulf.

This is accompanied by a mild climate with temperatures averaging 11 degrees in winter and 20 degrees in summer. Auckland is characterised by its many hours of sunshine, around 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. This makes it one of the sunniest areas in New Zealand.

Not too long ago, research showed that Auckland was the third best place in the world to live in the world.

On behalf of the above hospital, we are looking for an AIOS interventional radiologist for a full-time position, and for a period of 12 months.

This is a unique opportunity at one of the best hospitals in the world in the field of interventional radiology where you can gain a lot of valuable knowledge and experience in 12 months.

The start date is January or July 2025.
The suitable candidate will join the team responsible for regional care. They provide this interventional radiology care, jointly with various sub-specialties.

This happens 24 hours a day, so they have a busy vascular programme and a dedicated room focused on complex endovascular procedures.

They also have an oncology speciality and do surgical procedures here using RFA, MWA, Cryoablation and IRE. Furthermore, they work closely with the department of Neuroradiology and non-invasive imaging.

The radiologists all have their own speciality, which means you can gain an awful lot of experience and walk around everywhere.

To apply, you must be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Important for this is a good command of English, and previous experience as a radiology AIOS.

Preferably a completed radiology degree, but you will also be considered if you are towards the end of your training.

As there are a lot of opportunities in the hospital, it is preferable if you have an idea of which direction you want to take.

Furthermore, communication skills are important, as you will soon be expected to work at a high level, so fast integration is important.
