Job Purpose:


Provide professional services in corporate secretarial and annual legal compliance for our mix of local and international clients in New Zealand.

This role also comprises being the controller of our Know Your Client (KYC) onboarding processes and Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism controls as a Reporting Entity under the AML/CFT Act.


You will contribute to the profitable growth and development of TMF Group by creating and maintaining strong and trusted customer relationships.

You will work with intermediaries to support our clients' operational needs in New Zealand.

You can work with colleagues worldwide, delivering on ad hoc projects while operating several software that support our service delivery.

This role reports to the Country Leader of New Zealand and sits on the New Zealand management team with two direct reports to assist with the responsibilities of the department


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage a portfolio of highpriority/complex client companies by providing a complete set of corporate secretarial services
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act 1993 for our clients
  • Give guidance to client companies in maintaining good corporate governance practices
  • Provide guidance and support onboarding new clients
  • Managing corporate structures, drafting resolutions, and managing clients at all stages inbetween from incorporation to removal
  • Once trained, the ability to take on Professional Directorships of companies to support client business needs in New Zealand
  • Monitors, plans, and follows up on the status of billing, cashflow, debt recovery, annual price increases and fee negotiations
  • The team has inside of the department the Local Security Officer, AML/CFT Compliance Officer, and the Business Continuity Plan Coordinator
  • Monitors and reports on our measures that ensure that New Zealand meets its ISO270001 and ISAE3402 accreditation
  • Ensure that Prescribed Transaction Reporting and obligations under the AML/CFT Act are met
  • Update and test our Business Continuity Plan regularly
  • Manages and leads a team of professional staff and provides training to them while managing the productivity and utilization of the staff in the team
  • Recruitment activity, performance review and employee relations matters
  • Work as a team player with the payroll team, wider NZ office, and overseas colleagues
  • Stand in as required with team member absences to help manage client needs and activities
  • Proactively support other team members to help achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals
  • Actively work to resolve issues or concerns, with the support of the Country Leader
  • Promote and maintain a professional standard and positive team environment

Job Specific Skills:


  • Expert in local country company regulations and familiar with regulations of other overseas jurisdictions
  • Highly logical, commonsense approach to tasks and issues
  • Demonstrably superior knowledge of company legislation and the Companies Act 199
  • Professional demeanour and customerfocused attitude
  • Mature, selfmotivated with superior interpersonal and outstanding presentation skills
  • An ability to work effectively under pressure to multiple deadlines
  • Ability to support training and education of junior team members

Professional Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience gained from professional firms and 2 years in a managerial role
  • Degree holder in Business/Law/Accounting/Tax with relevant experience gained in a professional firm/CPA firm/law firm
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication
  • A fantastic attitude, with the ability promote a successful team environment
