Lead Advisor - Commercial Delivery at New Zealand Transport Agency, Wellington

Our Lead Advisor Commercial Delivery is a greenfield opportunity where you will provide policy, planning and operational support to the National Manager Commercial Delivery to facilitate the achievement of organisational and management objectives.

This is an integral role which will ensure the effective delivery of outcomes and programmes, collaborating across Transport Services and Waka Kotahi to embed and drive effective commercial capability.

You will have the opportunity to utilise your thought leadership and practical expertise to provide guidance and strategic advice across Waka Kotahi to further propel and install financial acumen and commercial management best practice.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Extensive commercial/contractual experience within the industry and sector relevant to the programme assigned
Good knowledge of procurement systems and supply chain processes to deliver infrastructure effectively and efficiently
Strong analytical thinking skills with proven experience in providing sound advice
A strategic thinker who can effectively communicate and support putting strategy into action
Highly effective planning and organisational skills, including superb prioritisation and the ability to operate at pace when required
Politically savvy, with a passion for working collectively to enable change formed by working in a government agency
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across Waka Kotahi, all levels of government, key partners and the private sector
A genuine interest to build on, or develop an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori
This is an exceptional opportunity to help enable positive change and uplift commercial capability across Transport Services and Waka Kotahi ensuring effective Project and Programme delivery across the motu
