Main duties:
Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, soups, dumplings, and rice dishes, according to established recipes and standards.
Monitor food quality and taste to ensure consistency and adherence to our high standards.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including proper storage and handling of food, equipment, and utensils.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to streamline workflow and optimize efficiency during busy periods.
Uphold food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Assist in menu development and innovation by suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, presentation, and food safety procedures.
Work closely with the management team to manage inventory, control costs, and maximize profitability.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, special requests, and dietary preferences.
Job pre-requisites:
We are open seven days a week.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
At least three years of experience working as a Chinese Chef or Cook in a restaurant or takeaway setting is a must.
Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.
The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
NZ residents or citizens will be preferred for this job.
