    Description
    Our New Lynn Auckland based retuarent looking for experience Assistant Pastry Chef.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Produce all items related to the menus and functions to the establishment's standard to satisfy diner expectations.

    Ensure that recipes and proportions are strictly adhered to to ensure consistency quality and cost control.

    Plan and organize work flows.

    Follow set policies to maintain standards for food safety in all food preparation areas.

    Order food items when required.

    Cost recipes and develop menu items for the establishment as requested.

    Keep recipe book up to date.

    Ensure equipment and work environment are operational.

    Ensure prep is up to date for days off.

    Impart knowledge and train staff to encourage high standards.

    Uphold morale in the kitchen and other departments.

    Communicate with and support staff.

    Attend kitchen meetings.

    Inform the designated management if any hazards are identified that may affect work conditions.

    Maintain positive relationship between kitchen and front of house staff.

    Any other duties the Executive Chef / Head Chef or Sous Chef may reasonably require.

    Receive deliveries and put away stock.

    Ensure the Kitchen is clean and tidy.

    Ensure all kitchen equipment are kept clean and tidy.

    Job Requirements New Zealand Certificate (Level 3 or 4) in Cookery or equivalent.

    A minimum of 6 months working in a professional kitchen.

    Food safety course within the past three years.

    Budgeting and menu costing skills Organization skills Time management skills
