About the Role


Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust is seeking a dedicated Funding Lead to join our dynamic Wai-Rehua (Funding & Contracting) team on a fulltime basis.

An integral member of the department, you will play a key role in supporting our organization and affiliate groups to enhance service delivery aligned with strategic objectives.


As Funding Lead, your responsibilities will include scoping funding opportunities, coordinating hui, gathering essential data, and collaborating across internal teams to ensure that the needs of whānau and community are effectively communicated.

Additionally, a crucial focus of your mahi will be analyzing information for funding proposals and crafting compelling Request for Proposals (RFP's) that showcase Te Whānau o Waipareira's value proposition amidst competing stakeholders.


Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commitment to Te Reo me ōna tikanga.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Communications, or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field, preferably nonprofit.
  • Previous experience working for the advancement of Māori.
  • Confident communicator in English and ideally Te Reo Māori.
  • Excellent writing, reporting, organizing, and planning skillset.
  • Knowledge of fundraising services, policies, and procedures.
  • Team player, capable of working across multiple teams/cultures.
