We are currently looking to employ a new, full-time Administration Support Officer to assist our Custodial Systems Manager at Mt Eden Corrections Facility.

Ngā kawenga | About the role
You will be supporting our Manager and the wider operational team with general administration in the prison, as well as delivering a wide range of administrative services including;

  • Maintaining databases and communicating with external agencies
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure confidentiality of correspondence, reports and other materials
  • Running and reviewing reports
  • Maintaining the CMS's telephone system
  • Preparing routine correspondence
  • Undertaking general duties such as record keeping, filing and photocopying


You will enjoy working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment, be able to multitask, follow and adhere to policies and procedures, and have sound judgement in prioritising tasks and activities to meet deadlines.

  • A high level of experience and competence working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a diverse range of people at all levels
  • Resilience when dealing with conflict and difficult situations in changing environments and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • A cando attitude with a high level of initiative and discretion
  • The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst managing a high volume of work
  • A team player, who is also able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail

A full or restricted New Zealand Driver Licence is required for this role.

Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen or an Australian resident who holds a current Australian Resident Return Visa.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary for the role is $49,708 -$57,306 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
