About the role


The Operations Support Manager (OSM) will lead operational support activity across the business unit to safely deliver all required outcomes of the Strategic Maritime Partner in New Zealand, both current and developing as scope grows.


By establishing a close and productive relationship with the broader stakeholder community, will focus on continuously improving customer satisfaction and the efficiency & effectiveness of the operational support activity.

To achieve this the OSM will leverage regional and functional support to build competency and capability across the team.


Key Responsibilities
-
Leadership - Lead and model Babcock's business fundamentals and foster a positive team culture emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.

HSEQ Leadership - Promote and lead a strong safety culture, prioritizing the goal of "home safe every day" and encouraging employees to report safety concerns.

Stakeholder Relationships - Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement - Collaborate with stakeholders to implement change initiatives and innovative solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency for Babcock and its customers.

Facilities Management - Oversee facility maintenance operations, implementing proactive asset management principles.


About you

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree Qualified in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Asset Management (highly desirable).
  • Extensive management experience in operational, marine, engineering services, or complex asset management, ideally within a defence environment.
