Excellence in education is part of our mission at Ngā Tamariki Pūawai o Tāmaki - Auckland Kindergarten Association, Over the past year, the Association has worked hard to realign with the philosophy of the kindergarten movement by moving back to having a 100% qualified teaching workforce.

As part of this movement, we now have a number of full and part time qualified teacher positions available. And more coming in the near future.


The kindergarten
Hillsborough Kindergarten is a well-established centre that provides modern learning facilties for our tamariki.

Our qualified kaiako at Hillsborough Kindergarten promote an inclusive and respectful environment where learning is fun. We value the cultural diversity of the community and embrace all contributions.

Our tamariki experience positive, respectful interactions with each other and their Kaiako. They are effectively supported to develop social, self-help and independence skills and a sense of belonging and wellbeing.

We partner with Hay Park School, to support a smooth transition for our tamariki into a school environment.

The role


Hillsborough Kindergarten is currently looking for a
part time, Monday to Friday (20 hours) ECE Kaiako to join us and help us contribute to the high level of service that we are proud to provide our local community.

If you are a registered and certificated ECE Kaiako this is a fantastic opportunity to join and experience the AKA


As one of our kaiako, you will enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team, and your commitment to bicultural practice and confidence in using ICT as a teaching tool will be vital to the great outcomes for children.

Through your open communication style and focus on strengthening relationships, you will value the past whilst helping to bring to life a vision for the future that is shared by the team, kindergarten whānau and local community.
