Description

We are looking for an Anaesthetic Technician/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our team at Mercy Hospital. In this vital role, you will play an essential part of ensuring the safe and effective delivery of anaesthesia across a wide range of procedures.

In this position you will provide clinical and technical support to the Anaesthetist, contributing to the sage administration of anaesthesia and the delivery of high-quality patient care. Additionally, you will support the theatre team in maintaining a smooth and efficient operating environment.

In this role, responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists.
• Provide safe administration of anaesthesia to patients.
• Anticipate problems and exceptional patient care.
• Co-ordinate documentation to ensure the patient receives effective care.
• Participation in quality improvement processes and activities.

This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE) position, hours to be worked on a Monday to Friday roster.

Alongside your previous experience as an Anaesthetic Technician or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), our ideal candidate will also have the following:

•    Hold registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

•    Demonstrate sound professional judgement and an ability to practice in a culturally safe manner.

•    Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment.

•    Exceptional attention to detail.

•    Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.
