Ashtar Rizvi

As an up-and-coming Software Engineer studying out of University of Waikato, I'm deeply immersed in learning and improving coding skills. My journey is about exploring multiple programming languages, developing solutions, and working on various projects that push the boundaries of technology. I'm extremely passionate about solving problems and working towards improving my technical expertise to help prepare for a career in software development.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have gained substantial experience in both software development and team collaboration. In my second year of university, I played a key role in developing games, where I utilized Three.js to create and animate 3D graphics. I also contributed to a group project by designing a comprehensive SQL database, enhancing my skills in database management and ER diagrams. Additionally, during my freshman year, I applied CAD SolidWorks to engineer and assemble a competitive boat, showcasing my ability to integrate technical design and teamwork. My role at The Peak Rototuna has further developed my customer service and problem-solving skills, where I manage reception tasks, address customer inquiries, and handle operational challenges, all while improving my critical thinking and communication abilities.

Education and Relevant Projects

Blowing In The Wind: In my second year of university, I worked on a group project to develop a game similar to GeoGuessr. My primary role was to create 3D graphics for a hot air balloon using Three.js, a JavaScript library. I developed various skins and animations for the balloon.

Hirepool Database: For another assignment, I was part of a team that created a SQL database for Hirepool. This database tracked inventory, equipment hiring history, staff, and customers. This project enhanced my understanding of ER diagrams, handling duplicate and temporal data, and database relationships.

Boat Engineering with CAD: In my freshman year, I participated in a group project to engineer a race boat using CAD SolidWorks. I designed the battery pack and assembled the boat from parts created by my team.

Android Studio Projects: I used Android Studio to create a website for my university, showcasing my skills in web development. Additionally, I developed a game using the same platform, further enhancing my programming and design abilities.
