I am a very friendly and approachable person with an absolute can do attitude to my work life and daily challenges. 

I enjoy project planning with colleagues and suppliers to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner and to excellent standards.

i am a person who cares about people within the working space and nearby environments and so pay particular attention to safe working practices.

i have been a tradesman carpenter since 1993 and during my working life to date, I have been able to amass a huge amount of construction and leadership knowledge in all facets of the construction industry from housing and light commercial all the way up to and including infrastructure and heavy industrial projects.

i believe that I am very adept at applying skills and experiences to current and future work challenges to ensure a high standard of work without any disruption beyond what would be considered necessary for a safe working environment for all.

most recently I have taken time away from work in order to care for my two youngest who attend Owhata primary school however I view the right time to return to work is at hand.

previous to this I was employed with Smith Crane & Construction Ltd as a Crane Operator.

My duties there included operating  various sized crawler & mobile cranes on many projects around the north island.

daily duties included attending site pre start meetings and briefing

 attendees about the expected operations for that day outlining the associated hazards and measures of mitigating safety risks for each.

carry out daily machine and equipment pre start checks & reporting any defects or mechanical faults to our service technicians and plant managers.

conduct lifting operations in accordance with company policy regarding industry best practice and site legal requirements concerning workplace health and safety.

leading Hand / Junior Foreman Christchurch Earthquake Recovery Team Infrastrucure. ( bridge & retaining wall)

Assess quake damage & rehabilitate Roading infrastructure assets including Stanmore Road, Killmore & madrass, Horotane and Manchester Street Bridges.

similarly, rehabilitate a large retaining wall supporting roadway over sumner hills.

duties included managing a small team of staff overseeing quality of work, health & saftey in the workplace, staff training and managing plant & materials ordering and use.

conduct daily preestart breifings and liase with project engineers and asset holder for regular progress and planning meetings.
