Job Description

Working within a team of other Laboratory Technicians, you will take samples delivered by Preparation assistants and;

Prepare & analyse samples in accordance with the standard operating procedures in the lab to ensure a high service level is maintained.

This involves weighing samples, digesting with various acids and making up volumetric solutions.
Calibrate and use instruments such as AAS, MPAES, uv/vis spectrophotometer and carbon sulphur analyser to generate sample assay results.
Qualifications

Excellent timekeeping and good organisational skills
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Tertiary qualification in a science related subject highly advantageous
Successful NCEA Level 3 science subjects, or equivalent, is a requirement
Previous experience in a laboratory environment beneficial
Additional Information

Good hourly rate,
Free bus to site, paid breaks, extra shifts at overtime rates
Minimum two 12-hour shifts per week offered.
Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and criminal history screening.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
