    We operate two hospitality businesses in Parnell & Newmarket, Auckland, each with its unique concept and offering. We have a reputation for originality, the quality of our products and high service standards.

    As we are opening our first full kitchen at the new 96 Saint Georges Bay Road site, this is also the location of the Sous Chef position.

    The Opportunity


    We have an opportunity for experienced industry professionals to step into the role of Sous Chef Ideally, you will have at least 2+ years of experience in a comparable role within the hospitality industry, ideally within a cafe.

    You will have effective team management experience, including the ability to train and mentor your team.

    You will have the capability to maintain high food standards, experience in managing and monitoring financial budgets and food and labour costs, and the flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.


    In this role, you will be responsible for:

    • Managing and leading the kitchen team in conjunction with the Head Chef
    • Ensuring exceptional product delivery at all times
    • Day-to-day operation of the kitchen
    • Assuming responsibility in the absence of the Head Chef
    • In conjunction with the head chef, menu planning, costing, including the cost of goods across the kitchen
    • Assisting the Head chef with people practices, including recruitment, performance management, retention, engagement and training
    • Stock management, including ordering, receipting, storage and rotation
